It’s been a little while since I’ve posted anything new over here, and it’s mainly because getting my thoughts together has been a mission-and-a-half on its own. A few short days after I posted the recap about my bridal shower and a joyful celebration of a new life with my husband, I found myself grieving over the end of my father’s life.
I had only been to a handful of bridal showers before being thrown one of my own so I didn’t have a TON of experience in knowing what to expect, but my goodness– my bridesmaids did such a fantastic job! Almost everybody in attendance had so many lovely things to say about the decorations, the games we played, and the fellowship that surrounded us. It was definitely an occasion for the books!
Before we start, check out my lovely party planners 🙂
Believe me when I say that I am definitely not on the list of the most creative women in America. In fact, I doubt that I barely even make the cut for the “Okay, that looks decent” list.
During grade school, I was the child that avoided out-of-the-box art projects like the plague. Extra glitter? Rainbow ribbons? Photos of unicorns dangling from popsicle sticks on top of my science wildlife project? No thanks. Can we go to the playground?
Alas, I got married. And I caught the “Wow, I’d like to be crafty to make our home colorful” bug. Suddenly Hobby Lobby and Michaels didn’t make me snooze, I bought my first hot glue gun and I found myself with a DIY board on Pinterest. Marriage changes lives, people.
Now that Will and I are officially living together (FINALLY!) and I’m still in the process of looking for a job– I’ve really enjoyed this season of playing the whole “housewife” role. And by housewife, I mean decorating and keeping the apartment clean, running errands, meal planning during the day, and being a live-in personal assistant to our spoiled fur baby Popcorn.
I mean, he certainly doesn’t mind. Your wish is my command, little guy.
